Privacy notice
Last updated 17 October 2026. This notice covers the Narmo app (the phone web app today, and the iPhone and watch apps when they arrive), this website and the waitlist. Our terms of service cover the rest.
Who we are
Narmo ("we") is a voice assistant for email and calendar, run by its founders, Adam Melhem and Zahi Majzoub, while the company is being registered. We decide how your data is used. Contact: [email protected]. Our full details are in the legal notice.
The short version
- Narmo reads your email and calendar only to do what you ask and to prepare your briefing.
- Nothing is sent, invited or changed without your approval.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or use your email to train AI models.
- No cookies, no analytics, no trackers, on the website or in the app.
- You can see, download or delete everything, and disconnect your mailbox at any time.
The Narmo app
What we access in your mailbox
When you connect Gmail or Outlook, you choose to give Narmo access to:
- Email: reading messages, so Narmo can tell you what needs a reply, summarise threads and write replies in context; and sending email, only after you approve each one.
- Calendar: reading and changing events, and seeing free and busy times, so Narmo can find a time, send an invite or move a meeting after you approve it.
- Your email address, to identify your account.
Narmo reads messages when it needs them for a request or for your briefing. It does not keep a copy of your mailbox.
What we access in connected apps
You can also connect Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Notion and HubSpot, each one only if you choose to. Narmo reads from them only when a request of yours needs it, and never in the background. It keeps no copy of what it reads: like email, the relevant parts go to our AI provider for that request and are then gone, apart from the conversation itself (deleted after one day). Anything that posts, schedules or writes is put on a card first, and happens only when you approve it.
- Slack: searching and reading messages in the channels, private channels and direct messages you are in, the names of those conversations and of the people in them, and posting a message as you after you approve it.
- Microsoft Teams: reading your chats (one-to-one, group and meeting chats) and sending a chat message as you after you approve it. Narmo does not read Teams channels.
- Zoom: reading your upcoming meetings, and scheduling a new meeting after you approve it.
- Notion: searching and reading only the pages and databases you share with Narmo when you connect it, and creating a page or adding text to one after you approve it.
- HubSpot: looking up contacts, companies and deals, and logging a note on a contact after you approve it.
- Which account you connected: the app's own id for you and your workspace, portal or account name, so the app shows where it is connected and the same account can't be attached to two Narmo accounts.
What we store, and for how long
- Your account: email address, name if you give it, plan, trial end date, whether you are a founding member (so you get the founding price) and settings. Until you delete your account.
- Access keys for your mailbox and any connected apps, encrypted, with the name of the workspace or account each one is connected to. Until you disconnect it or delete your account.
- Conversations with Narmo, so follow-ups work. Encrypted, and deleted after one day.
- Drafts and their results (the email, invite, change, message, meeting, page or note you approved or cancelled), notifications, reminders and an activity log. Encrypted, and deleted after 90 days.
- Things you asked Narmo to remember, and routines you set up. Until you delete them; you can see and delete each one in the app.
- Promises found in your sent email, only if you switch this on. Closed ones are deleted after 90 days.
- Usage and cost records: for each request, what it was for (for example a reply or a briefing), how much AI processing or audio it used and what that cost us. No email content. Deleted after 90 days.
- Setup milestones: the date you first reached each setup step, such as signing up, connecting a mailbox or approving your first email. Until you delete your account.
- Voice clips are turned into text and not kept.
A backup copy of the database is made every night, on the same server in Frankfurt, and each copy is deleted after 14 days. Mailbox and app keys in it stay encrypted.
Who processes it for us
- Anthropic (Claude), which understands your requests and writes drafts. The relevant parts of your email are sent to Anthropic for each request. When you ask about the wider world (news, opening hours), Anthropic also runs a web search for your question. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models. Anthropic is in the United States; transfers are covered by the EU standard contractual clauses in its data processing terms.
- ElevenLabs, which turns voice clips into text and reads Narmo's replies aloud. ElevenLabs is in the United States; transfers are covered by the EU standard contractual clauses in its data processing terms.
- Deepgram, which can turn voice clips into text instead of ElevenLabs, through its EU servers.
- Render, our hosting provider, which runs the Narmo server and database in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and the waitlist and forwards email sent to our address.
- Google or Microsoft, whose services you connect, under their own terms.
- Slack, Microsoft (for Teams), Zoom, Notion and HubSpot, only if you connect them, under their own terms. Narmo sends them only what an approved card contains (the message, meeting, page or note), plus the searches you ask for.
They may only use your data to provide their service to us. We share it with no one else, except where the law requires.
Two smaller cases. When you ask about the weather, Narmo sends only the place name to Open-Meteo, a free weather service, with nothing about you. And if Narmo's own speech service is unavailable, the app may use your browser's built-in speech recognition instead, which some browsers run on their maker's servers (Chrome on Google's, for example).
Google user data
Narmo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:
- We use Gmail and Google Calendar data only to provide and improve the features you see in Narmo.
- We don't use it for advertising, sell it, or transfer it to others except as described above to provide Narmo, for security, or as the law requires.
- No one at Narmo reads your email or calendar, unless you ask us to (for example for support), it's needed for security, or the law requires it.
- We don't use it to train AI or machine learning models, and our AI provider doesn't either.
The same rules apply to data from Microsoft and from every connected app.
Why, and on what basis
To provide the service you signed up for (performance of a contract), and to keep it secure (our legitimate interest). Usage and cost records and setup milestones help us keep Narmo affordable, set fair plan limits and see where setup is hard (our legitimate interest); they hold no email content. Promise tracking runs only with your consent, which you can switch off at any time.
Security
Connections are encrypted. Mailbox and app access keys, and everything Narmo stores from your email and requests, are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Narmo asks for the narrowest access that its features need, and every email, invite, meeting change, message, page or note waits for your approval.
Your choices
- Disconnect a mailbox in the app, under You. For Google, this also removes Narmo's access in your Google account. You can also remove access at myaccount.google.com/permissions or in your Microsoft account.
- Disconnect a connected app in the app, under You, then Connected apps. Narmo deletes its keys and, for Slack, Zoom, Notion and HubSpot, asks the app to remove Narmo's access too. You can also remove Narmo in the app's own settings.
- Download your data or delete your account in the app, under You, then Account. See deleting your data.
This website and the waitlist
The waitlist form collects your email address, your answers (which email service you use, which watch you wear, whether you'd pay the price shown), the price you were shown, your browser's language and the campaign link you came from, if any. We use them to invite you to the beta and to understand demand and pricing, based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We keep them until you ask us to remove you, or at most 12 months after the beta opens to the public. When you create an account, we check whether your address is on the waitlist, so you get the founding price.
The price you see is a test. While we decide on pricing, each visitor is shown one of three planned Pro prices (€14.99, €19.99 or €24.99), picked at random and kept the same on your return visits. This tells us how the price changes what people would pay. Nobody is charged during the beta.
Emails from us. We only email waitlist members about the beta: your invitation and important news about it. Every email we send will say how to unsubscribe, and you can always reply or write to [email protected] to stop them.
The website and waitlist are hosted by Cloudflare, which also forwards email sent to our address. Servers keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) for a short time, for security.
Cookies and storage on your device
Narmo uses no cookies: not on this website, not in the app. There are no analytics, ads or tracking pixels, and the fonts and images come from our own servers, so no other company sees your visit.
Your browser's own storage (local storage) keeps a few small values, on your device only:
- On this website: the Pro price you were shown, so it stays the same when you come back.
- In the app: your sign-in, so you stay signed in; your setup choices until setup is finished; and your appearance (light or dark) and spoken replies settings.
These values are only there to make the website and app work as you asked, are never used to follow you, and are not shared. Because nothing here is optional tracking, there is no consent banner. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings; signing out removes your sign-in.
Children
Narmo is a work tool for adults. You must be 18 or over to use it or join the waitlist. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us their data, write to [email protected] and we'll delete it.
Deleting your data
- Your Narmo account: in the app, go to You, then Account, then Delete account. Everything we store about you is deleted straight away and your mailboxes and connected apps are disconnected. You can download a copy first, in the same place.
- The waitlist: email [email protected] from the address you signed up with, and ask to be removed. We'll remove you and confirm within 30 days, usually much sooner.
- Can't use the app? Email us from your account's address and we'll delete your account for you.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent, by emailing [email protected]. We reply within one month. You can also complain to your national data protection authority (in France, the CNIL; in Switzerland, the FDPIC).
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and, for important changes, tell you in the app first.
